Midway point for the GDP complex
On Thursday, October 30, 2025, HOLBORN invited around 70 guests to the construction site of the future GDP complex to celebrate an important milestone: the installation of the first four 19-meter-high concrete pillars for the HVO plant section. In addition, the project's halfway point was celebrated in two ways: Fifty percent of the project scope has already been completed – in just sixteen and a half months, which is exactly half of the project duration.
The future complex, costing around €500 million, covers an area of 32,200 m², equivalent to 4.5 soccer fields, and is scheduled to go into operation in 2027. The plant is designed to produce 220,000 tons of high-quality renewable diesel fuel and aviation fuel (SAF) from waste and residual materials using green hydrogen. The project comprises three main parts: a pre-treatment unit (PTU), an HVO plant, and connecting pipelines to HOLBORN's existing facilities.
