Players in the HOLBORN team won the Oil Cup once again. They prevailed against nine teams and were therefore the winners of this prestigious tournament for the third time.
Last weekend the Holborn football team played teams from Hapag Lloyd, Shell, VTG and many other companies associated with the oil industry. Given the best football weather – cloudy and not too hot – Glinde witnessed exciting games with teams that came from Hamburg and the entire country. In a thrilling final, they ultimately beat their opponents the Eurogate team after penalties with a 5:4 (0:0) victory.
The Oil Cup has been staged for over a decade and takes place every two years. The impressive trophy can now be admired in the display cabinet by the canteen.
